Highlights are the floating map of Saxony, the futuristic installations on Neanderthal research and the 5,200-year-old fountain of the Neolithic period. Stroll along the unique, over 45-metre-long display cabinet with surprising everyday items from the Middle Ages to the Industrial Age.
The museum is located in the former Schocken store, an icon of Neues Bauen. The smac dedicates three further exhibition areas to the eventful history of the building.
